This page is showing First Nation’s involvement in the earth and relationship to the earth. Many of these sites are engaged in active resistance to all forms of fossil fuel extraction; tar sands, oil, gas, and coal. For many of these areas and the people who live there mining is also a degradation of their indigenous lands. Actions such as the pine ridge poster project is a wonderful example of their resistance projects.
