THIS IS IT FOLKS! OUR FIRST RALLYING OPPORTUNITY BEFORE THE WHATCOM COUNTY COUNCIL!
Please wear RED to indicate your support for fair representation! (The meeting will be a public record, so anti-coal t-shirts are okay.)
What’s going on? On July 7, the County Council will be considering several proposals for an amendment to the County Charter that would provide for five fair and equal districts and prevent a takeover of local elections by big coal.
The five fair and equal districts proposal will bring our local elections process in line with state law. It’s a common sense, equitable approach that will attract support from progressives and conservatives alike.
Already, coal industry supporters are desperately trying to block voters from having a choice on this proposal. NOW is the opportunity to speak out and make sure you, the voter, has the right to decide on fair and legal alternatives to big coal’s election scheme.
STAND UP AND SPEAK OUT FOR YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE!
