END THE ENDLESS WAR
Repeal the AUMF  (Authorization for the Use of Military Force) Workshop!
June 28th, 2:00-5:00pm (Doors open at 1:30)

The Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL) is bringing this free Workshop to Repeal the AUMF (Authorization for the Use of Military Force) to Bellingham June 28th, 2015.

The intention of the Workshop is to help educate people and in the skill of building relationships with Legislators and their staff to try to influence their decisions on the repeal of the AUMF. Legislative committees are just one of the many tools we have available to us.

Maiya Zwerling, the FCNL National Field Organizer, is planning to personally lead the Workshop which will last three hours.

Sponsored (so far) by Whatcom Peace & Justice Center, The Bellingham Friends Meeting, Veterans For Peace Chapter 111 and the Peace Vigil. Let us know if you’d like to co-sponsor by helping us spread the word!

“It’s been 14 years since the U.S. began military action across the globe post-911: an endless stream of drone strikes, indefinite detention, torture, enhanced surveillance, and the monitoring of American citizens. Terrorist activity is up, and anti-American sentiment has only hardened. One piece of legislation is behind these endless U.S. Wars: the 2001 Authorization for the Use of Military Force.

The good news: Congress can repeal this law. But they need to hear from you.
– Join a community of people working for peace and justice
– Begin using effective advocacy tools
– Learn how to build power in your community to make change in Washington”
