It’s an honor to invite you to one of the first events promoting this year’s totem pole journey, led by Jewell James, master carver and respected elder of the Lummi Nation. The WWU Students for Renewable Energy are asking the community to come together to raise support for the journey at this Thursday’s dinner and raffle.

Jewell James will offer a special keynote presentation, sharing with the community his wisdom around tribal treaty rights, the fight to protect Cherry Point, and lessons from last year’s totem pole journey.

This is a critical opportunity for us to stand with local and regional tribes as they work together to fight back against coal and oil export projects. Please join us to strengthen our community relationships and support this invaluable effort.

Help us fill the room!
