Advice on how to stop the spam on the wiki:

1) You must be logged in to edit the wiki.
(This step alone worked for the opensourcedemocracy wiki, for almost a month.)
2) We have to hand-make all of the log ins. Everyone who wants to edit the wiki has to e-mail us, then we log in as admin and as admin the create an account page appears (and only when logged in as admin.)
So that's how you stop script kiddies on a wiki.

That explains how to do it to your webmaster, and it's a bit much for many webmasters.
And some webmasters know how to do it but don't have access to the right files.

Yes, either of these can be done. Which would people prefer?

if not both then number 2...number one only worked for a month then the servers (same ones we have I think) got something on them that got around it...so 2 for sure.

Okay, #2 should now be set up, if I did it correctly!

Right now I've instructed people to email occupybellinghaminternet@gmail.com for access. Can I instead put your email address? as I am way less active than I used to be.

1. When logged in, go to "Special Pages" (on the left Navigation).
2. Click "Log in / create account"
3. Click "Create Account"
4. Type in username and email, leave password blank.
5. Click "By email", NOT "create account".

Yes...that will fine. I deleted all the spam so we can easily see if it worked.
