He will propose that healthcare should be viewed as a public service, like education, Our country has chosen to treat healthcare as a commodity and that approach is failing terribly.  We have one of the lowest life expectancy rates in the industrialized world and the highest health care costs. Much of this cost is borne by our businesses with unimaginable earnings by other businesses that provide our healthcare and supply its coverage and components. Hundreds of millions of lobbying dollars are being spent to keep it that way. A single payer program would improve outcomes, cover everyone, reduce costs, and relieve businesses of much of the burden.
